"Mask-Away" is the 13th episode in the first season of ¡Mucha Lucha!. This is the first half-hour episode and the last episode of the first season. It aired on February 8, 2003, on Kids' WB and on June 4, 2004, on Cartoon Network.
Synopsis[]
When the students of the Foremost World-Renowned International School of Lucha have a light-hearted, lucha-fun at a at local park, The Flea gets swept away on a kite. While Rikochet and Buena Girl set out to save him on a paddleboat, they're lost at sea. Soon, they're battered in a huge storm and then find themselves washed up on a deserted island. Can The Three Mascaritas overcome the elements and survive the island's solitude?

Trivia[]
- This is the first half hour-episodes to be produced with the runtime totaling 21 minutes.
- In addition, it is the only half hour-episodes to be produced in the first season.
- There are several things that will be the last time to use for the season finale:
- This is the last episode to use the original design before switching to the more refined design for Season 2 with new character designers.
- This is also the last episode with "A true luchador..." statement, in this case, Rikochet who is the last member of The Three Mascaritas to say the statement.
- It is also the last episode to include the original theme song sequence including the credits with screenshots taken from episodes.
- The title of the episode is a reference to a drama film, Cast Away with similar storylines to the episode.
- The only difference is that The Three Mascaritas were stuck on an island for a few days.
- This episode also alludes to the sitcom, Gilligan's Island.
- While Rikochet looks at the white, fluffy cloud, it resembles El Rey with its body and shape.
- As Buena Girl is stranded on the island, The Code of Masked Wrestling talks and commands her to take control of the island.
- Buena Girl is referred as a Slamazonian Princess by the "talking" Code of Masked Wrestling, which is a reference to a hieroglyph with a Slamazonian Princess that Rikochet mentioned in "The Mummy with the Golden Mask.
- When Rikochet said, "Zoinks!" and jumps into Masked Dog's arms, it is a reference to the Scooby-Doo franchise, where Shaggy jumps into Scooby's arms after saying "Zoinks!".
- When Rikochet gives speeches to an army of coconuts, a crudely drawn El Rey's mask is seen on his military hat.
- On the back of Rikochet's underwear, the "Fruit of La Lucha" logo is alluded to an underwear brand, Fruit of the Loom.
- The Flea mocks the squirrel that resembles Donald Duck's voice.
Goofs[]
- The zig-zag line on the kite is in-between the stick of the kite as Snow Pea is flown on the kite.
- Sonic Sumo throws a frisbee to Sr. Hasbeena, but it is not thrown after The Flea with the kite, passes by.
- White lines appear under Buena Girl's eyes, while she, Rikochet, and Masked Dog are on the raft boat.
- A ray of sun overlaps a palm tree, creating a transparency.
- While The Flea continues to be blown away, three coconuts are seen on the left side of the ocean, then it disappears as it stops.
- When Rikochet swings the vine, his mouth doesn't speak while he talks.
- In Amazon Prime, the subtitles say, "Yikes!" when Rikochet says, "Zoinks!" in the actual episode.
- The Flea is refers an animal to a monkey, but it was revealed to be a squirrel.
- When the squirrel landed with the kite, its eyes overlap the line on its head and then it's on its forehead.
- The Flea picks up a half of a coconut and a piece of it fell. After he screams, a piece of coconut was gone.
- As Rikochet was going to give them a big hug, another model of The Flea is overlapped behind him.
- In the same scene, Masked Dog's eyes are in a different direction.
