Lili Chin is the co-creator of the critically acclaimed animated series ¡Mucha Lucha!. She is also a character designer and a producer of both ¡Mucha Lucha! and "The Return of El Maléfico" movie.

She is known for drawing dogs and illustrated books. She recently wrote her first book, "Doggie Language: A Dog Lover's Guide to Understanding Your Best Friend", which was released in October 2020.

Biography[]

Lili Chin was born in Malaysia, and then emigrated to Australia when she was 12. When she moved to Australia, she attended Australian boarding school for 6 years. Later, Lili attended College of Fine Arts in Sydney, Australia and took workshops that lead her to her interest in animation.

She started her animation career in 1996 as an animation trainee. After the training, she went on to work on some animated series and commercials. She worked on The Silver Brumby as an animator assistant and clean-up artist in Skippy: Adventures in Bushtown. She also worked on "Lucky Lydia", one of the shorts from "What a Cartoon!" as an animator and inbetweener.

In 1999, Lili worked on the pilot "Lucha School" with Lili Chin for the commission by Warner Bros. Animation. In the following year, they established and co-founded Fwak! Animation studio and worked on several animated projects together before the pilot was made. In the same year, she moved to Los Angeles, California to continue with the production for the pilot.

In 2002, Lili co-created and also produced ¡Mucha Lucha! with Lili Chin. She also worked as character designers for the show. They later produced and returns to designed characters with Lili Chin, Jorge R. Gutierrez, along with other new character designers for the direct-to-video movie, "The Return of El Maléfico". They also continue to produce animated shorts under Fwak! Animation during the production of ¡Mucha Lucha!.

Lili went on to become an artist who only draw dogs after her adopting her dog, Boogie, which changed her career and life. She started to draw Boogie, other dogs, cats, pigs, turtles, and birds. She also was interested in researching the behavior, body languages, and other benefits/methods from dogs.

After the cancellation, they went on to create and produce their first animated movie, "Los Campeones de La Lucha Libre", which was produced and distributed by Cine Azteca. It was released in Mexico and Los Angeles in 2008, and then on DVD in 2011.

They continue to produce several more animation projects including "Dead Ringo" pilot. Although, she still draws thousands of dogs that led her influences to many dog training professionals, veterinarians, and behaviorists. Her drawings were also featured in exhibitions, organizations, and different programs from around the world.

In 2014, Lili worked on her project "Dogs of the World" that lead her to collaborating with different licenses and partnerships and creating new products that would be sold in stores. However, in October 2016, Lili filed a $1 million dollar lawsuit for copyright infringement against Kohl's. After she filed a lawsuit, her products still appear in Kohl's, but Kohl's didn't reply to her about the lawsuit.

In 2019, she worked on her first illustrated book, "Doggie Language: A Dog Lover's Guide to Understanding Your Best Friend", which was released in October 2020 and was published by Summersdale. She currently lives in Los Angeles, California with her two adopted cats, Mambo and Shimmy. She also continues to draw dogs that will help influence dog owners know their body languages better.
